Cleaning Out My Closet!!!!!!!!!!!


Sooooo I am going to start cleaning out my junk pile (aka my closet). I am a total youtube junky and some of the videos got my mental gears running. I recently got married and my wonderful husband help me setup a spare room in our home as my very own walk-in (140 sq. ft) how cool right! So I will be posting my progress or lack thereof here. I will also post answers to where I found my supplies, what I used, cost, etc. I am on a mission for organization because I am spending too much money being unorganized. Let me know what you think! (LOL this isn't my real closet but I will post pics soon. This is just some random pic from the internet! lol) Also I am planning to do some things on Youtube in the near future so keeps your eyes peeled!

A New Spin on Expo Markers

I must be the cheapest person I know. In an attempt to save money...I tried to find a way to prolong the life of dry erase markers that I use within my classroom. I had tried everything and was going broke purchasing school supplies (my first year). After some careful research I devised a plan. I was going to spin my markers. Sounds odd...very...I know but it really does work. Hey..I haven't had to buy any dry-erase markers in over 2 years and at 5.99+ per pack they are definitely not cheap. This is how it works. Get a piece of yarn about a foot and a half long. Wrap the yarn and knot it securely around the back end of the marker (not the cap end). Once the marker is secured, start to spin the marker in a circular fashion for approximately 5 seconds (it may take longer or less depending on the age and dryness of the marker). I WANT A CONTAINER HOUSE !

After perusing the internet I discovered an innovative "Green" construction alternative...A container home. I know I know the idea of living in something that is often seen on the highway during my morning commute to work wasn't my original idea of desirable home but these things are pretty cool! These houses are basically constructed from old shipping containers that shipyards ....*get this*... have to pay to get rid of! OOh I wan't one ...I want one ...I want one. HGTV also had a special on extreme homes in which it featured a container home as well. Check out the pics and let me know what you think. Could you see yourself living in one of these? Saving Money

So...I need to save more money. I am going to try to do a little experiment. I am going to set a goal to save 13,000.00 in 18 months. Seems a little unrealistic huh. I thought so too. I have concluded that if I try to save or generate 1,000.00 per month in additional income I should be able to clear my goal. Dag...I was really looking to splurge for my birthday (5/14) and go to the spa.. I guess it's back to the drawing board. Turn that frown upside down update: I had a terrible day! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
