Clutterfly

Clutterfly Clutter can be alluding. You attempt to follow it, so that it may be captured but the more you follow the more it alludes you. It can be daunting to keep the clutter at bay in the New Year. Purging and organizing will be our slow and steady stride to a successful outcome. So "I" have a lot of stuff or should I say "we" have a lot of "stuff." I mean a lot of stuff and I don't want a lot but I have a lot so here goes. I have been diligently purging my home and personal life of things. I didn't quite consider how much mental space "clutter" takes up. From digital clutter to physical clutter life can get really complicated really quickly. For those of "us" who have a lot of "stuff" I think its necessary to begin asking ourselves  four questions that have really helped us to get rid of about 40% of our unnecessary items.  The Root of the Issue Do you organize for hours on end only to find tha...

Bag Lady

"Bag Lady you gon' miss your bus. You can't hurry up.....cuz you got too much stuff!" Oh how I love me some Erykah. I find each time that I listen to this song it has a different meaning for me. I am always looking for ways to better myself and live a higher quality of life. I have however in my quest for a better me, discovered that I have too many "things." I am a natural born 'frugalista'. I spend on quality thrifty finds. I have noticed over the years my home is becoming filled with "things". Good "things" but as the saying goes too much of a good thing is not good. For this reason I have began on a journey of "living more with less".....change is always good when you have a mantra. I am going through my clothing landfill and I will be asking myself the following.  1. Do I love this item?  2. Do I actually wear this item?  3. What can I not live without?  4. What are my must haves?  5. Will I be willing ...

"Turning Over a New Leaf"

Image
I think that it is always important to stop and think about how what you do affects others. For this reason I decided at the start of 2014 to do what I like to call " turning over a new leaf." There are three main principles I try to make sure I follow: 1. Be nice - It is both what you say, and how you say it that counts. You never know what someone else's struggle may be ......so why not put just a little more effort in to being considerate and polite. 2. Be patient- Life is not about a to-do-list! Being a working wife and mother, I often find myself ripping and running all over the place for everyone else. I have come to realize that if it doesn't get done....it's ok. Life is a marathon not a sprint. You can't plan, pack, organize and prevent everything. Just go with the flow! It will work wonders for your health, hair and waistline. 3. Be present- putting family and friends on the back burner to work excessively is ridiculous. Live for the ...

Cleaning Out My Closet!!!!!!!!!!!

Image
Sooooo I am going to start cleaning out my junk pile (aka my closet). I am a total youtube junky and some of the videos got my mental gears running. I recently got married and my wonderful husband help me setup a spare room in our home as my very own walk-in (140 sq. ft) how cool right! So I will be posting my progress or lack thereof here. I will also post answers to where I found my supplies, what I used, cost, etc. I am on a mission for organization because I am spending too much money being unorganized. Let me know what you think! (LOL this isn't my real closet but I will post pics soon. This is just some random pic from the internet! lol) Also I am planning to do some things on Youtube in the near future so keeps your eyes peeled!
